Ronald Richard Hollesen, Bud, better known to his friends, was born April 19, 1923 in Sioux Rapids. The son of Verne and Lenore Hollesen. He served his country in the Army in the Pacific. On April 19, 1961 he married Carole Niemand at Jackson, Minnesota. They have lived all their married life in Sioux Rapids. Bud worked for the City of Sioux Rapids for over 30 years. He was on the Sioux Rapids Volunteer Fire Department and had also served as Fire Chief. Survivors include his wife Carole; daughters, Cindy Meister of Storm Lake, Sandy Landsiedel and husband Keith of Turtle Lake, North Dakota; one son Richard Hollesen of Sioux Rapids; 9 grandchildren; and a brother and sister-in-law Harry and Joyce Hollesen; step-brother and sister and spouses: Mr. and Mrs. Gene Napier and Mr. and Mrs. Enos Huffman; Sisters and brother-in-laws: Mr. and Mrs. Duane Payer, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Niemand, Mr. and Mrs. Gary Niemand. Lots of nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother and dad and step-mother.
