Description	:	Franklin resident Rosa Hilda (Bauerle) Skiles, 93, died Saturday, Aug. 12, 2000, at the Franklin Nursing Center in Franklin. Services are 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Peace Lutheran Church in Alma with the Rev. William Runaas officiating. Burial will be in the Alma Cemetery. Visitation is until 9 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Banta-Torrey Funeral Home in Alma. Mrs. Skiles was born Feb. 21, 1907, to Albert Christian and Lydia Barbara (Ott) Bauerle in Naponee. She attended Sindt Rural School District 14 through the eighth grade and graduated from Naponee High School in 1925. On Feb. 13, 1929, she married Harold Shelton Skiles at Alma. They lived on her husband's farm northwest of Naponee until 1945 when they moved south to another farm. In 1958 they moved to a farm north of Naponee and then into Alma in 1975. On Oct. 17, 1984, her husband died. She had been a resident of Franklin Nursing Center since 1996. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Republican City and the Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America. She also was a former member of the Salem Extension Club. Survivors are two sons, Dale of Alma and Lyle of Franklin; five grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
