Stalder, daughter of Ralph and Zora Harris was born January 26, 1897, near Little Rock, Arkansas and passed away December 13, 1963 in Rosary Hospital at Corning, Iowa, at the age of 66 years, 10 months, and 18 days. When she was only one-year-old, she moved with her family to Villisca. She attended the Villisca Public Schools. On May 23, 1916, she was married to William Oscar Stalder; two children were born to them, Harold Stalder of Downington,* Pennsylvania and Mrs. Art Pullen (Marie) of Nodaway, Iowa. She raised 6 step-children: Charles of Brooks, Dale of Nodaway, Esther Pullen of Clarinda, Ruby Greenfield of Villisca, Ruth Lampe of Winterset, and Jim Stalder of Massena. Mrs. Stalder had 12 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. For 21 years, Rose served Nodaway and the surrounding community as Postmistress. She leaves to mourn, her husband, children, and one sister, Olive Lillie of Brooks. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Marion, and 3 grandchildren. At an early age, she joined the Villisca Presbyterian church, and then after moving to Nodaway, she became a member here. For many years, she has worked in the Church School and served as church pianist. Also, she was a member of the Eastern Star and active in many other organizations. *Submitter's Note: Harold Stalder lived in Downingtown, Pennsylvania. She married William Oscar Stalder on May 23, 1916 in Villisca, Montgomery County, Iowa. She died of carcinoma on December 13, 1963 at Corning, Rosary Hospital, Adams County, Iowa, burial December 16, 1963, Methodist Grove Cemetery, Adams County, Iowa. She was a postal worker.
