Rose Bush was born June 14, 1910, in Pierre, to John P. and Emma (Pitlick) Bush. Emma died following the birth of the first set of twins in Pierre. John later married Mary Pitlick who raised Rose and her twin. Rose lived and attended school in Sully County. Following school, she worked for the Sutton, Seaman and Trumble families in their homes. Rose was united in marriage with Lawrence M. Venner on June 11, 1929, in Agar. They lived numerous places in Sully County and ran the dairy in Agar. Rose was an intricate part of the operation. In 1943, Rose and Lawrence purchased a farm east of Onida where they remained. She was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Agar, and served on the altar society. Rose moved to Pierre in 1975. She continued to be a member of the Okobojo Women's Club, and was a member of Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. Rose loved traveling, dancing and was a member of the Swisher's Dance Club in Pierre. Rose is survived by two daughters, Dolores Morgan of Mellette, Madonna Palmer Leimer (Gaile) of Paynesville, Minn.; one son, Larry Venner (Alice) of Pierre; one sister, Hazel Baumberger of Pierre; one sister-in-law, Luella Bush of Pierre; 20 grandchildren, Greg Morgan (Jeanne), Kevin Morgan (Tiance), Lonie Rausch (Mike), Denise McComsey (LeRoy), Camille Schmidt (Ray), David Morgan, Bradley Morgan (Robyn), Jerome Morgan (Lisa), Chad Morgan, Steven Venner (Lisa), Marty Venner, Eric Venner (Rae), Carrie Howard (Craig) Bruce Venner (Heather), Jesse Venner, Jonathan Venner, Jeff Leimer, Amber Palmer O'Brien (Shawn), Thomas Leimer (Michelle), Braden Leimer; 42 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; 11 stepgrandchildren; 36 stepgreat-grandchildren; 20 stepgreat-great-grandchildren.
