Description	:	When she was three her parents divorced. In 1917 they went to St. Agnes Academy, boarding school, in Alliance ,NE. Rose and Helen attended the same classes until they graduated. They both earned a teaching certificate from the normal school. Inspired by the example of the sisters, Rose entered the Congregation of the Sisters of St. Francis at Stella Niagara, New York after graduation from High School she entered the Sisters of St. Francis Novitiate in Stella Niagra, New York on Sep. 8, 1925, and made her final Profession of Vows on Aug. 27, 1931. ... After teaching in Elementary school in Ohio and New York, Sister Olivet was transfered to the west coast in 1939 where she continued her teaching career in elementary, secondary and college levels. She pursued collegiante courses at Gonzaga Un. of Spokane, at Stella Niagara Normal School in 1940, Buffalo, N. Y.and College of Holy Names in 1941, where she earned her BA. Later she attended Seattle Un. to earn the additional credits required for a Wash. secondary certificate and the following year she returned to Gonzaga Un. to qualifly for a Wash. Secondary Principal's Credential. June 1944 she was accepted as a student in the graduate school of arts and Science of Seattle University, June 1944, where she majored in history under Rev. Vincent Conway S J and earned her Masters Degree.A paper was Submitted in Partial Fulfillment of the requirements for the degree of Master of Arts in the Department of History at Seattle University, 1949. The book was "Seattles Pioneer Priest Right Reverend Francis Xavier Prefontaine. One copy is in the library at St Alverno, in Redwood City, Ca. Other educational assignments included serving as principal at St. Mary's academy in Washington and St Francis High School in Sacramento. Sister also served as dean of Mount Alverno College in Sierra Madre. As supervisor of the schools of St Francis Province she toured Europe while participating in a comparative study of the European and American school systems. This also provided the opportunity to visit many European sites of literary or historical importance. Another assignment was a trip to Boston to study computer programming in preparation for making a Survey of the Apostolates of the Sister of St. Francis of the west coast. Her last venture in the field of education was to earn a certificate in libery science at the University of San Francisco. She had already been required to fulfull the duties of librarian in several schools. Finally she was appointed to a new uncharted course as secretary and treasure of St. Francis Province. In addition to making investments and keeping the accounts balanced, she managed to get all the sisters of the province inducted into the Social Security system. Involvement in Marian Medical Center, in Santa Maria, in 1979. After completing the courses in Clinical Pastoral Education at St Jude's Hospital in Fullerton, Sister Olivet joined the Pastoral Care Team and continued to visit and to pray for and with the patients and to serve as Extraordinary Minister of the Holly Eucharist.
