She grew up near Lennox and graduated from Lennox High in 1957. In 1957 she married Elroy Oltmanns. The couple farmed near Lennox and moved into Lennox in 1999. Elroy died in 2010. Rose worked in several clerical positions and then worked as a band teller for Dakota Heritage State Bank, Chancellor, for 20 years until retirement.
