She was born on Aug. 19, 1920, in Paxton to Vernal and Flora Ward Coleman. Rosetta grew up in the Sarben area, graduating from Shelby High School. In November 1939, she married Lewis Moriarty near Paxton. The couple lived near Hershey for a short while before settling on the home place north of Paxton.
