She had been ill for several months during which time, except for a brief period of hospitalization, she was tenderly cared for by her daughter-in-law, Mrs. Winfield DeLong and members of her family. Born at Farmington, she was the former Roxy Florence Mossman, a daughter of the late Allan and Margaret (Hiltz) Mossman. She is survived by one daughter, Sylvia (Mrs. Owen Ramey), Barss Corner; one son, Reginald, New Germany; one sister, Mrs. Harry Steeger, Kingston, New York; one brother, William, Scarsdale; 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband in 1923 and by a son, Winfield in 1973. She was a woman of deep Christian beliefs and her stirling character shone through a quiet and loving manner which endeared her to her family and friends. She was a faithful member of the Barss Corner United Baptist Church, the Women's Missionary Society, and the Baptist Ladies Auxiliary. Recently she was awarded a Life Membership in the Mission Band. The funeral service was held on Friday afternoon, October 25, 1974, from the Barss Corner United Baptist Church with Rev. Carrol Armstrong of Milton officiating. He read selected portions of scripture and he paid tribute to the faithfulness of the deceased to her family and to her church. The choir led in the singing of " I Am Trusting Thee, Lord Jesus" and "Jesus is All the World to Me." Pallbearers were four grandsons, Richard, David, Gary Ramey and Gerald Delong. Interment was in the church cemetery.
