Mead; nearest relative or friend - B.F. Landis. Lead Daily Call newspaper, June 7, 1915 - "Mrs. Roxy L. Landis. Esteemed Woman of Hanna Passed Away this Morning at St. Joseph's. Mrs. Roxy L, aged 37, the beloved wife of B.F. Landis of Hanna, passed away at St. Joseph's hospital in Deadwood this morning after a brief illness. Mrs. Landis had been a resident of the Black Hills for twenty-one years, marrying Mr. Landis shortly after arriving in the Hills, on May 3d, 1895, and during that time her married life had been a happy one. She was a woman whom everyone who knew her esteemed for all of the womanly virtues and for her charity and kindness of heart. She was a good mother and a loving one, a devoted wife and a neighbor who was ever ready to serve in illness and distress, and those who knew her in life will miss her and sorrow that she has been taken. Besides her husband she leaves nine children to mourn for her, one a babe one week old, and to them the sympathy of the entire community goes out. During her life she was a devoted member of the Methodist church, and her funeral will take place from that church in this city on Wednesday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock, Rev. Albert Hartt officiating. Interment will be in Municipal cemetery. Her mother and four of her brothers and two of her sisters reside in Oregon, but they will not be able to attend the funeral." Lead Daily Call newspaper, June 9, 1915 - "Funeral services over the remains of the late Mrs. Roxy Landis took place this afternoon from the Methodist church of this city, and were attended by many friends of the deceased and her family.
