Roy was born September 6, 1918 to the late Noah and Alice Halstead Dolin at Foster, WV. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, Essie "Marie" Williams Dolin; daughters, Brenda Barker and Patricia Dolin; great-grandson, Travis Ray Cook; brothers, Earnest, Grady, Forrest, Woodrow and Frank; and sisters, Dalla Williams, Maddie Kessler and Cozetta Mays. Roy was a Christian and elder at the Church of Christ at Foster. He was an avid outdoorsman enjoying hunting, fishing and gardening. He worked as a coal miner for 45 years. He is survived by brothers, Lawrence and Vernon Dolin; and daughters, Pamela Cook and Sandra Cornette; grandsons, Roy Dolin, Randle Dolin, Richard Dolin, Rodney Cornett and Charles Cook; granddaughter, Tifinie Marie Cook Mullins; 11 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. Roy was the oldest living member of the Odd Fellows, District #170 of Madison and was loved by the entire organization. He was awarded the Odd Fellow of the Year in 2011 and 2013. Services will be 4 p.m. Thursday, May 8, 2014 at Handley Funeral Home, Danville. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens, Madison. The family will received friends two hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
