Jacobs was born Feb. 22, 1897, in the New Sweden Community in Jefferson County, the son of Albert and Clara Anderson Jacobs. He was reared and educated in Jefferson County. His marriage to Mildred Nelson took place Feb. 17, 1922, in the New Sweden church west of Four Corners. She preceded him in death Dec. 24, 1966. He was married to Mrs. Mae Ward April 8, 1968, in Fairfield, who survives. He was a member of the Lutheran Church. In addition to his widow, he is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Ronald Vorhies, Milan, Ill.; Mrs. Theo Bailey, Fairfield; and Mrs. William Harrison, Fairfield; six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by one stepson, James Ward, Addison, Ill.; four step-grandchildren; one step-grandchild; and one brother, Harry Jacobs, Burlington. He was preceded in death by one brother.
