Description	:	RUBERTA VIRGINIA YORK Ruberta Virgia Coleman was born Oct. 5, 1867 to James and Ann Coleman near Quincy, Ill. She came to Nebraska at the age of 18 to be with her sister, Susan Hunley. She was united in marriage to Charles Dennison York in 1889, and they joined the Baptist church in Pawnee City in the early years of their marriage. To this union were born six children, Four girls and two boys. Read More	RUBERTA VIRGINIA YORK Ruberta Virgia Coleman was born Oct. 5, 1867 to James and Ann Coleman near Quincy, Ill. She came to Nebraska at the age of 18 to be with her sister, Susan Hunley. She was united in marriage to Charles Dennison York in 1889, and they joined the Baptist church in Pawnee City in the early years of their marriage. To this union were born six children, Four girls and two boys. They are Grace, Mrs. Will Weber, Spokane, Wash.; Mrs. Ruth Cash, Pawnee City; Lily, who died in infancy; Byron, address unknown; Louise, Mrs. B.L. Chichester of Colorado Springs, Colo.; and Clefton, address unknown. In 1899 she moved with her family to Atwood, Kansas, and living there about a year before moving back to Pawnee City. Her youngest son was born at Atwood. She was a loving mother, caring for her children as best she could by doing housework, washings and ironings, and caring for other children, when she became the sole support of her family. She has always been a faithful church and Sunday school member and Sunday school teacher. For years she taught in the junior division and then taught women's class which for years had a regular attendance of 45 women. She has been a member of the Baptist church for 65 years. She leaves to mourn her passing her children, 12 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. One grandchild and three great-grandchildren preceded her in death. She departed this life Oct. 4, 1956 at the age of 88 years, 11 months and 29 days. (Pawnee Republican, Pawnee City, Nebr.
