She attended school in Bird City from Kindergarten thru high school graduating with the Class of 1932. She started taking music lessons when she was in the first grade and continued through high school and beyond. She started playing for Sunday School at the age of eleven, then became the church organist, playing for many weddings and funerals as well as the accompanist at school operettas and other functions and went to many music contests during her high school years. After graduation Ruby helped her mother at home and gave music lessons. She also clerked at a dry goods store and drug store for a few years. On October, 3, 1940, she was united in marriage to Orval "Jake" Peters at St. John's Lutheran Church, Bird City, by the Rev. T.A Kruger. They lived on a farm northwest of Elk Creek all their married life. To this union 2 sons were born, Roger Lynn and Terrance John, "T.J." Jake passed away July 2, 1997. Ruby became the organist at St.Peter's Lutheran Church. Survived by her 2 sons, Roger Peters of Colorado and "T.J." Peters and wife Malinda of Bowie, TX. granddaughter, Meghan of Chicago, ILL. many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends and sister-in-law, Phyllis Rambat of Arvada, CO, Ruth (Peters) Hurst of Camden SC and Marion (Nelson) Peters of Tecumseh. Ruby was preceded in death by herparents, sister, Emma Holscher, brothers, Ervin, Bill, Harry, Harvey and LeeRoy Rambat and four sisters-and brothers-in-law.
