Read More	The following provided by Find a Grave contributor "Cara": The River Press, Fort Benton, Mont., 10 Nov 1999 Rudolph "Rudy" Joseph Lusin Rudolph "Rudy" Joseph Lusin, 83, died Thursday, Nov. 4, 1999, at a local hospital of natural causes. His wife, Dixie, sons, Gary, Dennis and Randy, and his sister, Frances, were with him in his final days. To the very end he maintained his courage, humor, dignity, and faith in a way that eased this difficult time for all those present. Cremation has taken place and vigil service was Sunday with the Funeral Mass on Monday. Services were held in the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Fort Benton with burial at Riverside Cemetery, with military rites. Rudy was born Nov. 1, 1916, at his home in Great Falls, to Frank and Mary Lusin. He attended schools in Great Falls and worked as a zinc stripper at the Anaconda Copper Co. for several years. In April 1942 he enlisted in the Army and was proud to serve in Europe and Africa for over three and a half years in World War II. On Feb. 9, 1946 he married Dixie Schoonover. They lived in Cut Bank a short time while he learned the shoe repair trade. They moved back to Fort Benton where he operated Rudy's Shoe Shop for 31 years until his retirement in 1977. Together they had four sons, Gary, Dennis, Daniel and Randal. Daniel died shortly after birth in 1953 and was a twin to Dennis. Rudy's parents and sister, Mary, also preceded him in death. Rudy was a member of the VFW and he had just received his 50-year with the Knights of Columbus. He is survived by his wife, Dixie, who resides in Fort Benton; three sons, Gary of Bozeman, Dennis of Billings, Randal in Havre, and a sister, Frances Stimac of Great Falls. Rudy served his country, his community and his church well. His proudest service was to his wife and family where he demonstrated high family values with unconditional love.
