She was born to Paul and Nettie (Coughlin) Schoonover of Fort Benton on May 30, 1924. She was the youngest of 5 children, including Natalie O'Reilly, Francis, Phil, and Carol Price. She was born to Paul and Nettie (Coughlin) Schoonover of Fort Benton on May 30, 1924. She was the youngest of 5 children, including Natalie O'Reilly, Francis, Phil, and Carol Price. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rudy; infant son, Daniel, twin to Dennis; parents, Paul and Nettie; sisters, Natalie and Carol; and nephew, Skip. Dixie graduated from Fort Benton High School in 1943. During World War II she worked in several wartime positions in Great Falls and Washington D. C. She returned to Fort Benton and on Feb. 9, 1943, she married Rudy Lusin of Great Falls. They lived a short time in Cut Bank while Rudy learned the shoe repair business. They returned to Fort Benton where they operated Rudy's Shoe Shop for many years. Dixie spent several years as the business manager for St. Clare hospital in Fort Benton. Dixie is remembered as an outstanding mother who, like her husband Rudy, sacrificed much to see that their three sons, Gary, Dennis and Randy, had the necessary love and support to be successful in life. To the end she was pleasant, peaceful and strong. To her sons, daughter-in-law and grandchildren she set an excellent example of having unconditional love for all, a deep faith and trust in God, and a positive, peaceful force in our family. Dixie is survived by her sons and their families, Gary of Bozeman; Dennis of Havre; and Randy, Havre.
