Read More	Rue Vinesett Mayfield June 8, 1937 - December 17, 2021 Rue Vinesett Mayfield, 84, formerly of 202 Panaview Drive, Gaffney, S.C. went home to be with the Lord on Friday, December 17, 2021 at White Oak Estates. Born in Gaffney, she was the wife of Donald G. Mayfield and the daughter of the late Bedford Bobo Vinesett and Ollie McCraw Vinesett. She was a graduate of Gaffney High School, an avid Clemson Tiger football fan, loved her family, especially her grandchildren. Mrs. Mayfield was retired from United Cities Gas Company and was a member of Cherokee Avenue Baptist Church, where she served as the church Librarian. In addition to her husband, also surviving is a daughter, Shelly Mayfield Grant (Steve) of Spartanburg; a sister, Lena Vinesett Martin of Evans, Ga.; two grandchildren, Mitchell Grant (fiance', Sara Ann Hutto) and Zachary Grant (fiance', Jenna Hinson); and numerous nieces and nephews, whom she loved dearly. Mrs. Mayfield was preceded in death by two sisters, Juanita Shaw and Helen Turner; and two brothers, Joe Vinesett and Travis Vinesett. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Monday, December 20, 2021 at Blakely Funeral Home. Funeral services will immediately follow at 1:00 p.m. in the Blakely Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Clyde Thomas and Dr. Jason Waters officiating. Interment will be in Frederick Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Cherokee Avenue Baptist Church, P.O. Box 1449, Gaffney, S.C., 29342. The family will be at the residence.
