Read More	Spartanburg, S.C. - Travis "Bruiser" Holmes Vinesett, 77, died on Friday, January 6, 2012 at his residence surrounded by his family. Born in Spartanburg, he was the loving husband of Barbara Davis Vinesett for 53 years and the son of the late Bedford Vinesett and Ollie McCraw Vinesett. He was a graduate of Gaffney High School and the University of Georgia, where he played football. He was retired from Spartan Foods Systems. Travis was a member of First Baptist Church of Spartanburg and the New Boys Sunday School Class. In addition to his wife, also surviving are three sons, Dave Vinesett and wife, Pam, Joseph Wayne Vinesett and wife, Stacey and John Whitworth Vinesett and wife, Kelly; a daughter, Valerie Vinesett Scalf and husband, Ralph; three sisters, Rue Mayfield and husband, Don, Lena Martin and husband, Andy and Juanita Shaw and husband, Bill; twelve grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren, who affectionately knew him as "Sugar". Travis was preceded in death by a brother, Harley Joe Vinesett; and a sister, Helen Turner. The family will receive friends from 9-10 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 9, at Blakely Funeral Home. Funeral services will immediately follow at 10 a.m. in Blakely Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Kirk Neely officiating. Interment will be in Frederick Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Spartanburg Regional Hospice, 120 Heywood Ave., Spartanburg, SC 29303. The family will be at their respective homes.
