Read More	Rufus Lafayette Marrow was the son of John Pickney Marrow and Lucinda (Payne) Marrow, the husband of Patia Caroline (Phipps) Marrow, and the father of Emma Jane (Morrow) Wilson, Mellie Maude (Morrow) Washburn, Delphia Louise (Morrow) Washburn, Frederic Lafayette Morrow, Margaret Ann Morrow, James Edward Morrow, Mary Magdalena (Morrow) Sturtz, Lillie Myrtle (Morrow) Gudgel, Florence Pearl (Morrow) Jennings Huffman Brehm, and Marvel Caroline (Morrow) Ferguson.∼Boone County Democrat March 31, 1910 Rufus Lafayette Morrow, for many years a prominent farmer of Yell township, passed away at the Eleanor Moore Hospital at 11:00 o’clock Saturday morning, March 26th. Death was due to heart trouble with which he had suffered for some time, and was super induced by an attack of pneumonia. He was brought to the hospital for treatment Wednesday and sank rapidly until death ensued Saturday morning. The remains were removed to the Jayne undertaking parlors and prepared for burial and then taken to the home of John Wilson, a relative near Mineral Ridge. The funeral services were held from the Baptist church in Mineral Ridge at 2:00 o’clock Monday afternoon, conducted by the Rev. Chas. Davis and the remains laid to rest in Mineral Ridge cemetery beside his wife, who preceded him in death two years ago. He was born in Cherokee county, North Carolina, November 19, 1854 making him 55 years, 4 months and 7 days old at the time of his death. He came to Boone county in the spring of 1882 and has made his home here ever since. December 25, 1882, he was married to Miss Patia C. Phipps, who preceded him in death two years ago last February. To them were born ten children, eight girls and two boys, 8 of whom are still living and all were present at the funeral except one daughter, Mrs. J.G. Washburn, of Seattle, Washington. Mr. Morrow was preparing to remove to Seattle to make his future home when his final illness came. The children have the sincere sympathy of a host of friends in their sorrow. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ He was the son of James Pickney Morrow and Lucinda Payne.
