Services were on Tuesday, January 14, at First Reformed Church in Hull. Burial was in Hope Cemetery in Hull. Westra was born January 23, 1906, at Boyden, the son of Peter and Johanna (Schut) Westra. He married Gertrude Post at Rock Valley on February 3, 1931. They farmed in Sioux and Lyon counties until 1962, when they moved to Hull. He was also a cattle buyer, operating S & D Cattle Buyers with his son. He retired in 1968. She died January 8, 1992, at Sioux Falls. He spent the last few winters at Pleasant Acres. He was a member of First Reformed Church. Survivors include five sons, Stan, Dwayne, Donald, Gary and Wes; a daughter, Deana; a brother, John; two sisters, Margaret and Pearl; 20 grandchildren, and 22 great grandchildren. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Arlene; two brothers, Peter and Henry; and five sisters, Dora Van Dyke, Fanny (in childhood), Henrietta Moss, Fanny Vande Weerd and Johanna Boeve.
