Description	:	Samuel Gaisford was born at Pascoag, Rhode Island, June 21, 1857. He died at Diller, Jefferson County, Nebraska, December 3, 1921, at the home of his niece, Mrs. Samuel F. Clark. He was aged 64 years 5 months and 21 days. At the age of 12 years, he was moved with his parents to Minonk, Illinois, where he grew to manhood. On February 5th, 1880, he was united in marriage to Ellen Pickard. In 1881, he moved with his wife to Beatrice, Nebraska, where he was engaged in the blacksmith business and in the spring of 1887, he opened a blacksmith shop... Read More	Samuel Gaisford was born at Pascoag, Rhode Island, June 21, 1857. He died at Diller, Jefferson County, Nebraska, December 3, 1921, at the home of his niece, Mrs. Samuel F. Clark. He was aged 64 years 5 months and 21 days. At the age of 12 years, he was moved with his parents to Minonk, Illinois, where he grew to manhood. On February 5th, 1880, he was united in marriage to Ellen Pickard. In 1881, he moved with his wife to Beatrice, Nebraska, where he was engaged in the blacksmith business and in the spring of 1887, he opened a blacksmith shop at Harbine, Nebraska. On September 2nd, 1887, he was bereaft of his wife. After her death he returned to Minonk, Illinois, and engaged in the barber business for a number of years. On October 5th, 1891, he was united in marriage to Emma Ammerman at Beatrice, Nebraska. To this union three children were born: Mable, Lyle, and Charley. Mable and Lyle being deceased. Mr. Gaisford leaves to mourn his loss one son, Charley Gaisford, of Reynolds, Nebraska; two brothers: William of Minonk, Illinois; and Jene of Council Bluffs, Iowa; and a number of nieces and nephews. Mr. Gaisford's illness was of long duration, having been sick the past five years. He was a member of Diller camp No. 1668. M. W. A., and had lived in and around Diller for the past 12 years. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon from the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel F. Clark. Rev. Mrs. Innis officiating, and burial was made in Prairie Home cemetery. Those attending the funeral from out of the town were: Jene Gaisford of Council Bluffs, Iowa; Dr. and Mrs. Ammerman and daughter Helen; Charles Gaisford; and Mrs. Wilber Hiatt of Reynolds, Nebraska; Winfield Ammerman and wife of Plymouth, Nebraska; Dick Carpenter and wife; and Ed Bartlett of Beatrice, Nebraska; Mrs. Harlan Weaver and daughter Rachel of Harbine, Nebraska; Rev. McKeown; A. T. Nelson; Mrs. Charles Gaisford and daughter Mary; Henry Fielder and wife; William Carpenter and wife; Frank Amos and wife; O. R. Miller and wife; Forest Fielder and wife, Fred Fielder; Ray Thompson; William Gaisford and wife, Clarence Mann and daughter, Esther; all of Ellis, Nebraska.
