Description	:	The Emporia Gazette, 14 Jan 1910, Friday SAMUEL FOSTER DEAD Samuel Foster died at his home three miles east of Lang last night at 12 o'clock, after an illness extending several months and confinement to his bed for the past six weeks. His disease was in the nature of a complication brought on by the weaknesses of age. He was born eighty-five years ago in Athens county, Ohio, and spent his early manhood there, afterwards moving to Illinois. He was born eighty-five years ago in Athens county, Ohio, and spent his early manhood there, afterwards moving to Illinois. He was married in 1864 to Miss Mary Zook, in Illinois, and they lived in Illinois about twenty years before coming to Kansas. They settled in Lyon county over forty years ago, and Mr. Foster has been one of the prominent farmers of the county. He was the father of thirteen children, and eight of these besides Mrs. Foster survive him. The children are Mrs. Mary Adams, and Mrs. Henry Norton, of Emporia; Mrs. Dillman, and Mrs. Engle, of near Emporia; Mrs. Anderson, of Madison; John Foster, of Kinsley; Dave Foster, of near Reading. The funeral arrangements have not been made.
