Steele, Cloud county resident for the past seventy-two years died at his home at 334 East Fourteenth Street, Concordia, Monday evening, after a long illness. Born in Ashton, Ill., on January 7, 1874, Mr. Steele was 76 years old at the time of his death, Monday, April 24, 1950. He came to Cloud county when he was four years old and on February 7, 1900, was married to Allie (error- should be Nellie) E. Doak in Concordia. They lived on a farm southwest of Concordia until they retired about five years ago and moved to town. Mr. Steele is survived by his wife; three daughters, Mrs. James Koch of Lawrence; Mrs. Verne Gillan of Ft. Collins, Colo.; and Mrs. Joe Pearce of Topeka; two brothers, Frank of Glasco and Jess of Elkhart; three sisters, Mrs. Charles Fletcher of Glasco; Mrs. Frank Pearce of Concordia and Mrs. Florence Bailey of Long Beach, Calif.; and seven grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 2:30 at the Concordia Christian church, with Rev.
