Description	:	OLATHE --- Evelyn Susan Koch, 92, Olathe, died Monday, Oct. 28, 2002, at an Olathe nursing center. Mrs. Koch taught school in the Concordia area for four years and later was a sales clerk for J.C. Penney, Rothchilds and Montgomery Ward. She was born Oct. 23, 1910, in Concordia, to Samuel Mardella and Nellie Elizabeth Doak Steele. She was raised in Concordia and graduated from Concordia High School and attended Wesleyan College in Salina. She moved to Lawrence in 1941, then to Lenexa in 1968 and to Olathe in 1989. She was born Oct. 23, 1910, in Concordia, to Samuel Mardella and Nellie Elizabeth Doak Steele. She was raised in Concordia and graduated from Concordia High School and attended Wesleyan College in Salina. She moved to Lawrence in 1941, then to Lenexa in 1968 and to Olathe in 1989. Mrs. Koch was a member of the First Christian Church in Lawrence. She married James E. Koch on May 5, 1930, in Concordia. He died Nov. 21, 1970. Mrs. Koch also was preceded in death by two sons, James G. Koch and Robert S. Koch. Survivors include a daughter, Carol R. Falkner, Lenexa; a sister, Leta N. Pearce, Dallas; seven grandchildren; and nine great- grandchildren. Graveside memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Memorial Park Cemetery in Lawrence.
