Last Will and Testament Loudoun County, Will Records, Book K p. 153, Mar 1840; Samuel Russell Will-In the name of God Amen, I Samuel Russell of the County of Loudoun & State of Virginia being weak in body but of sound & perfect mind & memory, blessed by Almighty God for the same, to make & publish this my last will and testament in manner & form following that is to say First I will that so much of my property be sold as may be sufficient to pay all my oust. debts and funeral expenses; Secondly I give and devise to my affectionate mother Ann Russell my farm in Warren County Missouri containing about one hundred and twenty one & one half acres of land and all my interests in the real and personal estate of my deceased father James Russell to hold to her, her heirs and assigns forever and lastly as to all the rest residue and remainder of my personal estate goods & chattels of what kind & nature so ever. I give & bequeath the same to my affectionate mother Ann Russell to hold to her, her heirs and assigns forever and I do hereby appoint my said mother Ann Russell sole executor of this my last will & testament In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand & seal this 18 day of September 1839. Saml Russell. Signed sealed published and declared by the above names Samuel Russell to be his last will & testament in the presence of us who have hereto subscribed our name as witnesses in the presence of the testator. Peter Derry Isaac Fouke Christian Nysewanger. At a court held for Loudoun County March of 1840; This paper purporting to be the last will and testament of Samuel Russell and was this day presented to the Court proved by the oaths of Peter Derry & Isaac Fouke subscribing witnesses thereto and ordered to be recorded and at another day to wit the 9th day of Nov 1840. On this motion of Ann Russell the executor therein named, she qualified as such and together with Wm Clendening and Wm Russell her securities entered into and acknowledged a bond in the penalty of one thousand dollars conditioned as the law directs certificate is granted her for obtaining of the said will in due form.
