Delatour, was born August 12, 1877 at Helena, Ark., and passed away at Lewellen September 5, 1945, at 10:00 p. m. His parents resided at Helena until he was four years old when they moved to Cambridge, Nebr., where he lived until about 1884, and in this year they moved to North Platte, Nebr., residing there until 1887. The family then moved to the ranch which had been established on Blue Creek in 1883 by his father. He received his education in public schools at North Platte, Nebr., and with private teachers on the ranch, and at a military school in Kearney, Nebr. December 8, 1903, he was united in marriage to Emma A. Schroeder of Lewellen and to this union was born four children as follows, Josephine, Darius, Helen and Pauline. February 28, 1915 he was united in marriage to Edmonia Johnson of Lewellen, Nebr., and to this union the following named children were born, Katheleen, Dorothy, Samuel, Gene, Mildred and Joann. Up to the time of his father's death in 1943 he was engaged in ranching on Blue Creek with him and since has operated alone. He leaves to mourn his death Edmonia, Lewellen, Nebr., and the following named children, Mrs. Josephine Corbin, Corvina, Calif., Darius Delatour, Katheleen Carlson, and Miss Joann Delatour, all of Lewellen; Mrs. Helen Winters. Corpus Christa [sic], Tex.; Mrs. Pauline Fisher, Corvina, Calif.; Mrs. Dorothy Cranmore, Lemoyne, Nebr.; Eugene Delatour, now serving in the United States Navy; Miss Mildred Delatour, Hastings, Nebr.; thirteen grandchildren; two brothers. John M. Delatour, Stockton, Calif., and Ben C. Delatour, Fort Collins, Colo.; many other relatives and a host of friends. He was proceeded in death by his son, Samuel, who lost his life in India November 4, 1944, in the service of his country. He was a loving and indulgent husband and father and will long be remembered by this jovial and kindly disposition. Funeral services were held at the Wright Funeral Home, Oshkosh, Nebr., at 2:00 p. m., with Rev. L. D. Compton officiating. He was layed to rest in the Ash Hollow cemetery at Lewellen, Nebr., September 10, 1945.
