Sarah Ann Dennis Passed Away Saturday Sarah Ann Dennis, daughter of Jesse E. and Mary Dennis, was born October 12, 1856 at Louisville, Kentucky, and passed away at her home in DuBois, Nebraska, October 4, 1941, aged 84 years, 11 months and 22 days. She came with her widowed mother to Kansas a small child and located near Frankfort where she lived until about the time of her marriage to Lewis L. Smith, November 18, 1883, at Old Cincinnati village. She has lived in Pawnee county since, except one year spent in Kansas. To this union one child was born, Jesse. Her husband preceded her in death on February 20, 1903. Mrs. Smith was the last of both her own and her husband's immediate family. She was one of the older residents, having located in DuBois in 1908 and has lived here continuously since. She is survived by her son, Jesse, DuBois, six nieces and one nephew and a large number of friends. Mrs. Smith had not been critically ill long. She had called on friends only a few days ago and passed the evening quietly at home preceding the morning of her passing. She was a friendly neighbor, a quiet soul and a loyal mother. May the good she has contributed live on to her memory. Funeral services were held at the United Brethren church at 2 o'clock Monday afternoon with Rev. Otis Webb officiating. Burial was in the Cincinnati cemetery.
