Smith County Pioneer – March 8, 1917 Death of Aged Woman Mrs. Sally Ann Ingram, a well known resident of Pawnee township since the middle nineties, died at the state hospital in Topeka February 28 and her body was brought back to her old home last Friday and interment made. She was aged 80 years and seven months and with her passing, her brother, Lew Brown, is the only survivor of a family of twelve children. Lebanon Times – March 9, 1917 Obituary Sarah Ann Brown was born in Indiana on July 2, 1836 and died in Topeka, Kansas February 28, 1917, aged 80 years 7 months and 26 days. She was converted when 15 years of age and joined the Christian church and has lived a faithful Christian life. She was married to Cornelius Ingram on January 12, 1854. To this union eight children were born. She leaves to mourn her loss 1 son, 2 daughters, 12 grandchildren, 11 great grand children, 1 brother and other relatives. Thy soul from earthly scenes hath gone to dwell among the blest, Called home from service to reward, called home from toil to rest; Called home with all thy work complete and with thy race all run; The Master's voice to thee has said the blessed words, "Well done." Called home, with every trail o'er, with every cross laid down; Thou hast obtained, with wondrous joy, a bright, unfading crown. O deathless land, where thou hast gone, O home so pure and fair! Again we'll meet to part no more when we shall enter there. – A Loving Daughter.
