Smith Officiated At Services in Funeral Home Funeral services for Mrs. Sarah DuBOIS were held at the Campbell Funeral Home yesterday afternoon at 2:30, conducted by Dr. U. S. Smith, pastor of the First Methodist church. Miss Cora Ball sang "Home of the Soul" and "Abide With Me." The casket attendants were F. H. McQuiston, J. L. Hicks, H. C. Pattison, D. M. Sense, A. B. Frazey, and R. C. Sayers, members of Jefferson lodge No. 4, I. O. O. F. Burial was made in the family lot in Evergreen cemetery. Those who attended the services from out of the city were her grandson Wilbur M. DAY of Norwood, Ohio, and a niece, Mrs. May HISEL KERRICK of Claude, Texas. Sarah WELCH DuBOIS was born February 26, 1845, in Stark county, Ohio, and passed away at the Jefferson county hospital, on December 26, 1932, aged 87 years and 10 months. She was the eldest child of John and Clarissa CHASE WELCH. In September, 1954 (sic – 1854), she came with her fathers family in a covered wagon to Cedar township, Jefferson county, and this county has ever since been her home. December 21, 1865, she was united in marriage to Ruben D. DuBOIS, who passed away July 10, 1922. To this union was born one daughter, Charlotte A., who who (sic) married John W. DAY, and passed away June 7, 1901. Mrs. DuBOIS is survived by her sister Mrs. Susannah HISEL of this city, with whom she had made her home for the past four years, also a grandson Wilbur M. DAY of Norwood, Ohio. Early in life she became a member of the Methodist church and at the time of her death was one of the oldest members of the First M. E. church of Fairfield. For many years she was a member of the Fairfield Rebekah Lodge No. 96, and always enjoyed its good work.
