Description	:	Mrs. Savilla J. Hopes, 85, died at 2 p.m. Sunday at her home here in southeast Villisca. Her death was due to old age and followed a nine weeks severe illness. The body was taken to the Wolfe & Gourley Funeral HOme until time for the funeral. Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Mrs. Hipes home, with the Rev. Martin H. Keast conducting the rites. The singers at the funeral serves were Mr. and Mrs. A. F. Davie and Frank McMahon, J. H. Skinner was born September 4, 1845 in Luray, Henry County, Indiana and was married December 15, 1863 in Dalesville, Indiana to John J. Hopes. To this union eleven children were born, all growing to adult years. They moved to Villisca in 1892. Mr. Hipes died in 1912. During recent years, Mrs. Hipes has spent the winters at the homes of her children and the summers in her own home in southeast Villisca. On May 21, she fell at her home here and had been confined to her bed from that time until her death. All her children except one son who relies in Centralia, Washington have visisted her during the time of she was bedfast. Her children and grandchildren held a family reunion here last September on the date of their mother’s eighty-fifth birthday anniversary. Mrs. Hipes was a member of the United Brethren Church. Survived by one sister, Mrs. Margaret Stewart of Daleville, Indiana and the following children, H. C. Hipes, Centralia, Washington; Mrs. Leota Hill, Preston, Minnesota; Mrs. J. L. Branan, St. Joseph, Missouri; J. Claude Hipes, Creston, Iowa; Mrs. J. J. McMahon, St. Joseph, Missouri; Mrs. F. T. Bridwell, Villisca; Mrs. N. R. Cook, Aurora, Illinois; T. H. Hipes, Sloan, Iowa; and Ed Hipes, Creston, Iowa. The following relatives were here from out of the city to attend the funeral; Mr. and Mrs. N. R. Cook, Aurora, Illinois, Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Branan and son George and wife and daughter, Betty, Miss Mable Reid and Mr. and Mrs. J. J. McMahon, St. Joseph, Missouri; Mr. and Mrs. J. C.
