Sharon (Ehde) Hanisch was born May 17, 1947, in Sioux Falls, SD, to Roy and Elsie (Edberg) Ehde. She attended Sioux Falls Public Schools. On November 17, 1964, Sharon was united in marriage to John Hanisch. In 1966, Jack entered the military. The couple lived in various states. Upon returning to Sioux Falls, Sharon became a homemaker and had adored spending time raising their children. Later, she worked for Sioux Valley and McKennan Hospitals in Admitting and as a Telemetry Technician. While working at Avera, Sharon pursued her college degree. As an English Major, she received her Batchelor Degree in 1991, and retired that same year due to poor health. Sharon loved to travel, and particularly enjoyed trips visiting family in Arizona, California, and Wyoming. She also enjoyed crafts, knitting, crocheting, and creating ceramics. Sharon had a deep passion for people. Her door was always open to people and animals alike. In the center of her life was her family. Sharon was blessed with a nurturing spirit. Her larger than life smile and warm sense of humor will forever be treasured. Grateful for having shared her life are her husband, Jack Hanisch, Dell Rapids, SD; sons, Grant Hanisch (Karen), Harrisburg, SD, Kyle Hanisch (Amy), Sioux Falls, SD; grandchildren, Mya, Ty, Kayd, Tabor, Ashton, Kyle, Kole, and Kaylee; and her sister, Mary Lou Savold (Mike), Sioux Falls, SD. She was preceded in death by a son, Kevin; her parents; a brother, Roger Ehde; and sister, Betty Jean Oveson. Funeral Services will be held 10:00 am Saturday at Miller Funeral Home, 507 S. Main Avenue, with burial at Hills of Rest Memorial Park. Visitation begins at 1:00 Friday with the family present to greet friends from 5:00 to 7:00 Friday evening.
