Description	:	Sheldon George Russell "Captain Shell", 83 of Piney Point, MD died on Thursday, January 11, 2001 at Washington Adventist Hospital in Takoma Park, MD. Born on February 2, 1917 in Tall Timbers, MD, he was the son of the late George W. Russell and Sarah Shorter Russell. Mr. Russell served in the U.S. Army during World War II. After being honorably discharged he went to work for the public works department at the Patuxent River Naval Air Station for a short while. Read More	Sheldon George Russell "Captain Shell", 83 of Piney Point, MD died on Thursday, January 11, 2001 at Washington Adventist Hospital in Takoma Park, MD. Born on February 2, 1917 in Tall Timbers, MD, he was the son of the late George W. Russell and Sarah Shorter Russell. Mr. Russell served in the U.S. Army during World War II. After being honorably discharged he went to work for the public works department at the Patuxent River Naval Air Station for a short while. Mr. Russell was a boat captain for over 50 years, he fished, crabbed, clammed and oystered the Potomac River and the Chesapeake Bay. He also worked for Stewart Petroleum Company in Piney Point. He was a lifetime member of St. George's Episcopal Church. Mr. Russel is survived by his wife, Winifred C. Abell Russell of Tall Timbers, MD, three daughters, S. Eleanor Strickland of Great Mills, MD, Shirley W. Dorrell of Brooms Island, MD, Patricia A. Morris of St. Inigoes, MD, two sons, Sheldon C. and Walter T. Russell, both of Tall Timbers, MD, nine grandchildren, Ricky E. Dorrell Sr, Sherr L. Dorrell, John B. Morris III, Jason R. Morris, Shawn Adkins, Joyce E. Strickland, Donald S. Strickland, Michael S. Russell, and Brian T. Russell; seven great-grandchildren, Lauren Dorrell, Merry Dorrell, Rick E. Dorrell Jr., Josh Dorrell, Bradley A. Tippett, Alison M. Morris, and Joshua Adkins, a sister Sarah Gohl. He was predeceased by four sisters, Zella White, Bernice Tippett, Shirley Munetz and Jean Kazen and two brothers, Houston Russell and Edward Russell.
