Mr. Maynard was born October 20, 1905 to Chauncey and Ada Fate Maynard in Union county, South Dakota, near Richland. He farmed most of his life near Westfield, Iowa before moving to Sioux City where he managed an apartment complex for 15 years. He later worked for Davenport Cleaners and moved back to Westfield in 1976. . He married Iris Bihlmeyer December 18, 1925. She passed away March 12, 1941. He married Gertrude Harrington June 8, 1944 at Sioux City, Iowa. . Survivors include his wife, Gertrude of Westfield; one son, Lawrence of Akron; one brother, Ira Maynard of Sioux City; and one sister, Cloie Nearman, of California. . He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Iris, two brothers, Claude and Dewey, and one sister, Loie.
