W.S. Ickler. The Rev. Adolph Lillich officiated at the services. Interment was in Greenwood cemetery. Albert Bullock of Dix officiating. Siebert John Gottlieb Ickler, son of Anna and John Ickler, was born on Dec. 14, 1875 in Dodge county, near West Point. He was baptized in the Lutheran church and on April 13, 1890 was confirmed in Zion Lutheran church, being a member of the second confirmation class. He was a life long member of the Lutheran church. In his early youth he moved to Creighton where he began to learn the blacksmith and wagon makers trade at the age of 16. He followed this trade at Creighton, Winnetoon, Coleridge and other communities in Nebraska and South Dakota, finally locating at Wayne where he operated a shop for 33 years. He retired because of ill health about five years ago. Since that time he made his home with his son, Rev. Ickler, first at Three Forks, Mont. and for the last two years at Kimball. He was an active member of the Nebraska Blacksmith and Wheelwrights association. He was united in marriage with Amelia Scheer on Aug. 27, 1903. To this union one son, Willis, was born. He was 74 years of age at the time of his death. Surviving are his wife, Amelia; his son, Rev. Ickler of Kimball; three sisters, Mrs. Catherine Romine of Chicago, Ill., Mrs. Bertha Gruchow of Neligh and Mrs. Margaret Hoffman of Norfolk; one brother, William Ickler of Adams and many other relatives at Creighton.
