Kehren, pastor, officiating. Burial will be at the Wayne Zion Cemetery. Mrs. Bodeker died in the home of her daughter, Mrs.Margaret Brodersen, in Wyoming, April 9. She suffered a paralytic stroke in 1939, and has been bedfast since July 1946. Mrs. Bodeker, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Brockens, was born March 4, 1883, in Wayne Township. She was baptized the same month in the Wayne Zion Lutheran Church of which she was a lifelong member. She was married on Oct. 2, 1902, to Johann Gerhard Bodeker by Rev. C. Mardorf at Wayne Zion Lutheran Church. Her husband preceded her in death on Sept. 18. 1944. She is survived by six daughters, Mrs. Herman Engelbart, Mrs. Brodersen of Wyoming, Mrs. Louise Hayen of Amber, Mrs. Clarence Herren of Amber, Mrs. Louis Rickels of Monticello, and Mrs. Rhinehart Wessels of Anamosa; one son, John Bodeker of Amber; one sister, Mrs. Anna K. Stadtmueller of Monticello; 20 grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. Harry Wessels, who was killed a few weeks ago, was her grandson. Two brothers and a sister preceded her in death. NOTE: OBIT SHOWS YEAR OF BIRTH AS 1883, ALSO WAYNE ZION CHURCH DIRECTORY SHOW BIRTH YEAR AS 1883....GRAVESTONE SHOWS 1882....Believe that the gravestone maybe in error.
