Description	:	From the Lawrence Journal-World, September 28, 1828 Ending a long residence in this city, Mrs. Sophia Tripp of 133 Perry street, died today on her 74th birthday at her home. She was well known in North Lawrence where she and her husband had made their home for 40 years, living on the same property which was swept by the flood of 1903 which caused them much loss. Read More	From the Lawrence Journal-World, September 28, 1828 Ending a long residence in this city, Mrs. Sophia Tripp of 133 Perry street, died today on her 74th birthday at her home. She was well known in North Lawrence where she and her husband had made their home for 40 years, living on the same property which was swept by the flood of 1903 which caused them much loss. She was born in Almond, New York, on September 28, 1854, the daughter of George W. and Elizabeth Palmer. In 1874, she was married in Canisteo, New York, to H. P. Tripp, the couple coming to Lawrence in 1877 where they have made their home ever since. Mr. Tripp immediately took up his printing trade here, being employed on the old Journal which was run by T. Dwight Thacker. He was foreman of the shop when Colonel O. E. Learnard was owner of the Journal and later was employed on the Gazette. Still later, he was employed on the World after its consolidation with the Gazette. Mrs. Tripp had a great interest in those in need and always aided any in unfortunate circumstances. For the past twelve years she had been a sufferer with kidney trouble being confined to her bed the greater part of the time. She is survived by her husband H. P. Tripp, of the home, a son Ralph P. Tripp, night operator at the Sante Fe, a niece, Mrs. May Bowman of Virgil, Kan., and three grandchildren of Lawrence
