| Description | : | Parents: Samuel and Demaris (Rambo) Martin. Samuel was born in Kentucky and Demaris in Virginia. After their marriage in Virginia, they moved to Iowa where they were among the early pioneers. Demaris died in Iowa at age 57. In 1850, Mr. Martin became a "49er" and trekked to California to work in mines for three years when he returned to Iowa, remaining there for a year whereupon he relocated to Analy township in Sonoma County where he engaged in farming until his death at the age of 81 years.
