Description	:	Stanley W. King, 94, of Le Mars passed away on Wednesday, January 3, 2007 at The Abbey in Le Mars. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 6, 2007 at the United Methodist Church of Le Mars with Reverend Mike Janes officiating. Interment will be at 1:00 p.m. in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery, rural Akron, Iowa. Visitations will be after 3:00 p.m. Friday, December 5, 2007 at the Carlsen Funeral Home in Le Mars with the family present to greet friends after 6:00 p.m. followed by a 7:00 p.m. Prayer Service. Stanley Warren King was born January 24, 1912 in rural Plymouth County, Iowa to Warren and Birdean (Poyzer) King. Stanley was baptized at the Evangelical United Brethren Church at Adaville. He graduated from the Liberty Consolidated High School in 1929. Stanley was united in marriage to Hazel Pecks on January 1, 1939 in Union County, South Dakota. Stanley and Hazel farmed near Slayton, Minnesota until December 7, 1941 when they returned to the family farm in Johnson and Liberty Townships. They continued to farm until 1961 when they moved to Le Mars. Stanley worked for Hauff Hardware in Merrill for a couple of years before beginning his career with Westmar College in Le Mars in maintenance. He worked for the college for 12 years and then in 1976 began working as the church sexton at the Calvary United Methodist Church. He retired from the church in 1982. Hazel passed away on January 4, 1989. Stanley later married Lois Winchester on May 22, 1990 at Calvary United Methodist Church. Stanley and Lois made there home in Le Mars. Stanley sang in the church choir at Adaville and Le Mars for over 80 years. Survivors include his wife Lois of Le Mars; 2 sons, Leslie "Les" King and his wife Mary of Sioux City and Terry King and his wife Carol of Maryville, Missouri; 6 grandchildren: Kathy Rosauer and her husband Al of Sioux City and there children Austin and Hunter, Karla Ruby and her husband Doug of Sioux City and there children Kerri, Joshua, and Jessica, Jon King and his wife Cindy of Sioux City and there daughter Hannah, Kevin King and his wife Kimbe of Nixa, Missouri and there children Kayleigh and Kannon, Shawn King and his wife Andrea of Nixa, Missouri, and Heather King of Manitou Springs, Colorado; a sister, Freda Dreeszen of Akron, Iowa; and several nieces and nephews. Stanley was preceded in death by his parents, Warren and Birdean (Poyzer) King; his wife Hazel on January 4, 1989; a brother Elvin in infancy; and 3 sisters: Elva Hawkins, Ione Roggow, and Ferne Tindall; and a grandson, Robert King.
