Description	:	Stella Myrle, the daughter of Williard E. and Nellie M. Philson, was born in Shelby county, Iowa, April 17, 1900. When she was but two years old she came with her parents to York county, Nebraska, where she grew to young womanhood. June 17, 1924, she was united in marriage to Lee A. Grone. To this union were born two children, Mrs. Ruth M. Clayton of Englewood, Col., and Ross W. Grone of Baltimore, Md. From 1926 to 1929 the Grone's lived in Kansas. About 1930 they returned to Nebraska, settling on a farm northwest... Read More	Stella Myrle, the daughter of Williard E. and Nellie M. Philson, was born in Shelby county, Iowa, April 17, 1900. When she was but two years old she came with her parents to York county, Nebraska, where she grew to young womanhood. June 17, 1924, she was united in marriage to Lee A. Grone. To this union were born two children, Mrs. Ruth M. Clayton of Englewood, Col., and Ross W. Grone of Baltimore, Md. From 1926 to 1929 the Grone's lived in Kansas. About 1930 they returned to Nebraska, settling on a farm northwest of Fairmont, where they continued to live to the end of her life. She was baptized at an early age and was a life-long member of the Methodist Church. She was a faithful member and a diligent worker in Grace Methodist Church so long as her health permitted. When she could no longer attend the services of the church, she took over the task of writing the boys in service. For a long period of years she taught classes in the church school and also worked in the Vacation Bible school. She was always interested in the young people of the community. She was also a member of the White Circle of the Woman's Society of Christian Service. Mrs. Grone kept abreast of the times by a rather wide interest in literature. She was naturally possessed of a cheery disposition, and it was a real pleasure to be in her home. Even though she slipped away in the very middle of life, her influence lives on. She had been a semi-invalid the past five years. She seemed to be improving in health until very recently. Her going was quite unexpected. Her final summons came Friday, March 23, 1956, and she sleeps, being aged at the time of her death 55 years, 11 months and 6 days. She leaves to mourn her husband, Lee A. Grone, the two children mentioned above, a son-in-law, David Clayton; a daughter-in-law, Elaine Grone; and five grandchildren. She also leaves four brothers, Clark E. of San Diego, Cal., Ray G. of Mason City W.; Ernest of York and Gailard A. of Broken Bow; besides a number of more distant relatives and a multitude of friends and acquaintances. Funeral services were conducted in Grace Methodist church in Fairmont, Monday afternoon March 26 at 2 o'clock by her pastor Rev. Charles B. Haskins. Oliver Moul , soloist, sang "Beyond the Sunset" and "Beckoning Hands," with Mrs. A. P. Stewart as accompanist. Pallbearers were nephews, Myron, Max, Maurice, Clinton, David and Rex Philson. Interment was in the Fairmont Cemetery. The Nebraska Signal 29 March 1956 Daughter of Willard E. and Nellie M. (Allen) Philson. Married Lee A. Grone on June 17, 1924. Lot owner: Lee Grone.
