Description	:	Raymond G. Philson, second son of Nellie M. Allen and Willard E. Philson, was born August 18, 1892, near Harlan, Ia., in Shelby county. The family moved to York county, Nebraska, in 1902. He was united in marriage to Hannah E. Witter of Exeter, May 12, 1918. Three children were born to this union, Wilma (Mrs. Carl E. Plock of Fairmont), R. Dale of Milford and Rex D. of Caldwell, Idaho. The family moved to Custer county, Nebraska in 1930. Philson, was born August 18, 1892, near Harlan, Ia., in Shelby county. The family moved to York county, Nebraska, in 1902. He was united in marriage to Hannah E. Witter of Exeter, May 12, 1918. Three children were born to this union, Wilma (Mrs. Carl E. Plock of Fairmont), R. Dale of Milford and Rex D. of Caldwell, Idaho. The family moved to Custer county, Nebraska in 1930. In 1958, due to poor health, he ceased farming, moving to Fairmont, where in retirement, he made residence until his death, Sunday, May 6, 1962. His death came at the age of 69 years, 8 months and 17 days, in the Grand Island Veteran's Hospital, where he had undergone observation and treatment. He was a member of the Federated church and the American Legion in Fairmont. His parents, one brother and one sister preceded him in death. Surviving his are his wife; his children; one son-in-law; 2 daughters-in-law and 10 grandchildren. Also two brothers, Ernest of York and Gailard of Fairmont; a brother-in-law, Lee Grone of Fairmont, and an aunt, Mrs. Harriet Emerson of Lamoni, Ia.; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews in addition to a host of friends. He very much loved his relatives and other friends--enjoying very much his grandchildren. His death will be a continuing loss to all who knew him. Funeral services were conducted at the Federated church in Fairmont at 2 p.m., Wednesday, May 9, Rev. Ronald Carr officiating. Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Hall sang "Going Down the Valley" and "Safe in the Arms of Jesus." DeAnne Frazier was accompanist. Pallbearers were Earl Frazier, Don Galusha, Max Galusha, Oliver Kness, Ralph Keil and Rex Plock. Interment was in the Fairmont cemetery, with graveside services in charge of the Fairmont Legion post. --------------------------- World War I Veteran. Lot owner: Hannah Philson.
