Description	:	Mrs. L. W. Homan died March 27 1901 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. W. P. Lawrence at the age of 82 years and seven months. Temperance McClain was born in Kentucky August 17, 1918 and grew to womanhood in this state, when she moved to Park County, Indiana. She was married to Lewis Homan, August 12, 1838. In the year of 1843, she, with her husband and family moved to Jones County, Iowa and from there to Adams County. Lawrence at the age of 82 years and seven months. Temperance McClain was born in Kentucky August 17, 1918 and grew to womanhood in this state, when she moved to Park County, Indiana. She was married to Lewis Homan, August 12, 1838. In the year of 1843, she, with her husband and family moved to Jones County, Iowa and from there to Adams County. Twelve children were born to this union, seven of whom are living, three died in infancy. Westley died in June 1863, while serving his country. Theresa Moore of Tekamah, Nebraska, died June 6, 1897. Those living are Mark Homan and Emma Ogbourn of Enterprise, Oregon, John Homan of Prescott, Arkansas, Joe Homan of Massena, Iowa and Elizabeth Snyder, Jim Homan, and Louisa Lawrence of Carl, Iowa. These with the aged companion remain to mourn her loss, besides a host of other relatives and friends. She had 41 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren living. She united with the Baptist Church at the age of 13 years and remained a faithful member up to the time of her death. She assisted in the organization of a Baptist Church in Jones county in 1948, and also assisted in the organization of the First Baptist Church in Adams County in 1858. The funeral services were conducted from the First Baptist Church, March 28 and interment made in the cemetery near by.
