Present for the occasion will be eight of the 12 living members of their wedding party. The four children of Mr. & Mrs. Fenstemaker, and their families will accompany their parents to morning services, Sunday at the First Christian Church, which Mr. & Mrs. Fenstemaker have been attending since their marriage. Following church, the celebrants will be honored at a dinner at the Castle Tea room, for which their daughter and son-in-law, Mr. & Mrs. Ray Janeway of Lubbock, Tex.., will be hosts. In the afternoon, a reception will be held at the Fenstemaker home for relatives and for the original members of the wedding party. Both Mr. & Mrs. Fenstemaker were born in Illinois, Mrs. Fenstemaker as Bonnie May Anderson at Martinsburg, and her husband at Amboy. His family moved to South Dakota before they settled in Lawrence. Mrs. Fentemaker was teaching in Western Kansas as a young woman, when her aunt, Mrs. Pheobe Ann Martin, who lived in North Lawrence asked her to spend the summer here. A few days after her arrival, Mrs Fenstemaker met her future husband and they sang in the church choir together. Their wedding took place at the home of Mrs. Martin July 26, 1903. Following their marriage they lived at Des Moines, Ia., Baldwi, Topeka and Oaskaloosa, returning to Lawrence in 1909, residing here since. On April 12, 1911, their home in North Lawrence was smashed by a tornado which ripped through the town, damaging about a dozen houses. Mr. & Mrs. Fenstemaker and their children were blown into the yard, but crawled from the wreckage of their home unhurt. Fenstemaker for many years was employed at the Reuter Organ factory, where he invented a number of items. His inventiveness is in evidence around the hyome, where numerous items of utility and beauty are in use. Retired now, he was last employed at the Sunflower Ordnance Works during the war. Mrs. Fenstemaker has been a prominent worker in the First Christian Church, teaching an adult Sunday School class for many years. The children of Mr. & Mrs. Fenstemaker are: Mrs. George (Frances) Dulin, Kansas City; Stanley Fenstemaker, Route 1; Frank Fenstemaker, Hutchinson and Mrs. Ray (Ethel) Janeway, Lubbock, Tex. Nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren complete the descendants. One son, Edwin L Fenstemaker is deceased.
