Allen, former Fairfield businessman. He passed away in a hospital at San Francisco, California, suffering from a heart attack. The body will be returned to Fairfield for burial. Although arrangements are incomplete, they have been tentatively set for next Sunday. Mr. Allen was engaged in the hardware business in Fairfield for many years where the Luckman hardware store is now located. He originally was in business with A. W. Streed. Mr. Streed later sold his interest when he was named president of the Farmer's State bank. He now resides at Middletown, Iowa. The late George W. E. Snyder purchased Mr. Streed's interest in the hardware store, and the firm then became known as Allen and Snyder. The closed the business in 1936. The following year Mr. Allen went to the West Coast where he has been employed since. Mrs. Allen, who resides at 51 North D street, was with her husband when he passed away. Mr. Allen is survived by his wife and two daughters, Ruth and Thelma. A son preceded him in death (sic. he was also preceded in death by a daughter).
