Read More	Fairfield Ledger Monday August 20, 2001 Thomas Edwin Hoskins Thomas Edwin Hoskins, 74, of Richland died at 10:24 a.m. Friday, Aug. 17, 2001, at Jefferson County Hospital. The funeral was held at 10:30 a.m. today at Woolson Friends Church, south of Richland, with the Rev. Ned Van Nostrand officiating. Burial was in Pleasant Plain Friends Cemetery. Open visitation was held Sunday at Gould Funeral Home in Richland. An educational scholarship will be established in his memory. Mr. Hoskins was born Feb. 17, 1927, in Pleasant Plain, the son of Seth E. and Vera Maude Brady Hoskins. He married Beverly Joan Coffin Feb. 17, 1950 in the Pleasant Plain Friends Church. He attended Pleasant Plain Consolidated School and graduated from Pleasant Plain High School in 1944. He farmed all of his life. He lived in Yuma, Ariz., for the past 18 winters due to health considerations and attended the First Christian Church. He was a member of the Jefferson County Pork Producers, Jefferson County Farm Bureau, an Iowa Master Pork Producer, member and former treasurer of the Jefferson County Extension board, 4-H leader, served for many years on the Jefferson County School Board, served from 1968-1984 on the Pekin Community School's board and was past president of the board. He was also a long time member of the Woolson Friends Church where he served in numerous leadership positions. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Thomas Milton Hoskins and wife Kathryn of Fairfield and C.L. Hoskins and wife Peggy of Richland; one daughter Candice McDonald and husband Steve of Noblesville, Ind.; eight grandchildren; and one sister Helen Parcell of Richland. His parents; one brother, Chalmers Hoskins; and one grandchild preceded him in death.
