Thomas Henry Brenton and Mary Ann Clark moved to Iowa in 1854, He served as a Sergeant in the Fifth Corp, Co. "E", 3rd Iowa Cavalry, and their children became the first doctors and bankers in Western Iowa. Unfortunately, his son Henry Glen Brenton was the black sheep, and abandoned his wife (Dora O'Neal also buried here) and their children between 1885 and 1895 and was, we believe, hung for cattle rustling, though his final resting spot remains a mystery.
