Description	:	When Thomas Hilliard Murdock was born on May 17, 1845, in Terrell, Georgia, his father, James, was 26 and his mother, Martha, was 24. At the young age of 17, he enlisted in Company H, Georgia 64th Infantry Regiment on 25 Jul 1863 against the War of Northern Aggression. Murdock fought at Deep Bottom Virginia Aug 16, 1864, where he was captured and sent to Point Lookout as a POW. There he stayed until Exchanged for Parole March 16, 1865. Read More	When Thomas Hilliard Murdock was born on May 17, 1845, in Terrell, Georgia, his father, James, was 26 and his mother, Martha, was 24. One of the soldiers he served with was Aaron Knighton, who moved to Terrell County from Fairfield,SC as a child with his family. His sister's daughter, Marietta, became Thomas's wife on Feb 28, 1868. They named their first child, Georgia and are named along with Aaron's family in the 1870 Census. Eight more children were born before they moved south to Ashford Al in 1992. While Marietta carried her last son, Willy Madison, she soon died from childbirth complications along with pneumonia. She is buried at Bluff Springs Baptist Church in Ashford, Fl. Thomas Hilliard then married Charity E. Morning on April 14, 1895, in Houston, Alabama and became mother to all the small children. Thomas died on October 6, 1916, in Jackson, Florida, at the age of 71.
