Survivors are one daughter, Mrs. Otis L (Zella) Cochran; one brother, Walter Jeffers; seven grandchildren including Mrs. Loren Van Hoosen and Mrs. William Bassett, and 28 great grandchildren. Mr. Jeffers was born April 22, 1870, at Greencastle near Colfax. He was the son of Joseph and Mary Budd Jeffers. He married Blanche Stier, who died in 1937, in 1894. He was a retired farmer. Thomas was reared on the home farm and there he assisted with the general work about the place during the summertime, and he made farming his life work. He owned thirty acres of good land in Independence Township and had a comfortable home there. In connection with his farming he operated a threshing machine and corn-shelling outfit, did a big annual business with each, being one of the best-known threshers in the County, enjoying substantial, returns from a large territory. Thomas was buried in Restland Cemetery at Baxter. Blanche and Thomas were the parents of Zella Jeffers, who married Otis Cochran.
