Description	:	May 2, 1918 - Carroll Times - Thomas Murdock, an old resident of Carroll, died at the hospital early Thursday morning, April 24, after being in failing health for several years. During his younger years he was active in the city's welfare and for many years served as a constable. Thomas Murdock was the youngest of thirteen children and the last of this number to be called to his Maker. Read More	May 2, 1918 - Carroll Times - Thomas Murdock, an old resident of Carroll, died at the hospital early Thursday morning, April 24, after being in failing health for several years. During his younger years he was active in the city's welfare and for many years served as a constable. Thomas Murdock was the youngest of thirteen children and the last of this number to be called to his Maker. He was born in Carlisle, England, August 11, 1835, and at the time of his death was 81 years, 8 months, and 14 days of age. His father died when he was a babe and when he was two years old his mother brought him to Canada. As he approached manhood he was apprenticed as a car builder and later as a carpenter. He came to the United States at the time of the Civil war and worked in the south for the government during the war period. After the war he worked as a bridge builder for western railroads. Later he returned to Canada and on Decembei 28, 1871, was united in marriage to Miss Margaret Dawson Arneil at Brampton. Two children wore born to this union, Charles J., who passed away January of this year and Dr. D.C. Murdock, of Oklahoma City. The family moved to Carroll county March 1876 and the parents have since resided in their home northwest of the city. Funeral services conducted by Rev R. Burton Sheppard, were held at the home Sunday afternoon and he was laid to rest in our Silent City.
