Read More	Honz Funeral Rites Held Thursday - She Suffered a Paralytic Stroke on October 26, 1937, from Which She Never Recovered Theresia Voss Honz was born February 26, 1867 at Oldenberg, Germany and passed away at her home on February 15, 1938 at the age of 70 years, 11 months and 15 days. On October 26, 1937, she was stricken with a paralytic stroke from which she never recovered. She immigrated to this country in her young womanhood, and came to Denison where on April 16, 1891 she was united in marriage to Clem Honz and to this union eight children were born: Mrs. Rose Schiltz, Urban S., Mrs. [Gerald] T. Grote, Olga M., all of Dunlap and Clement A. of Panama. Three having preceded her in death, namely, Andrew, who passed away in 1926; Joseph in 1931 and Mrs. Elizabeth Stolz in 1932. Besides the bereaved husband and the five living children, she leaves 17 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and one sister in Germany. The funeral was held Thursday, February 17th, at 9 o'clock from St. Patrick's Church, Rev. Gerald G. Walker celebrated the Requiem High Mass and gave the last blessing after which he delivered an inspiring and consoling sermon. Interment took place in the family lot in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. In the passing of Mrs. Honz, another good wife and mother has gone to her reward. Her influence and sweetness of life, will ever abide in the hearts of her loved ones and her many friends. Out-of-town relatives and friends attending the funeral service were: Mr. and Mrs. Thos. Ahart, Mr. and Mrs. J. Leo Ahart, Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Cook, all of Dow City; Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Ahart, Mrs. Emma Assman of Earling; Mr. and Mrs. B. A. Walker of Portsmouth; Leonard Hoffman of Panama; Mrs. Henry Grote of Neola; Mr. and Mrs. John Schiltz and son, Isadore of Denison.
