HARTMANN DIES AT AGE OF 88 RITES PENDING Mrs. Trientje Hartmann, 88, longtime county resident, died Monday at the home near Le Mars of a daughter, Mrs. George Kruse after an illness of several months. Funeral services at St. John Lutheran church in Preston township, near Akron, are pending. Rev. C. C. Guetzlaff will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery under direction of Mauer’s funeral home. The former Trientje Janssen Saathoff was born July 20, 1875, in Stockholt, Germany. She came to this country and Nebraska as a young woman of 23 after her marriage to Behrend Heyen Hartmann, March 20, 1897, at Aurich, Germany. A short time later the couple moved to Plymouth county where she had resided since. Mrs. Hartmann had made her home the last 14 years at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Kruse in Grant township. She was a member of the Preston township St. John American Lutheran Church Women. Surviving are four sons, Alfred of Le Mars, John, George and William, all of Hawarden; three daughters, Mrs. Henry Helmrichs and Mrs. Fred Jacobs, both of Akron, and Mrs. George Kruse of LeMars; 30 grandchildren and 61 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; three sons; a daughter, and her parents, John Eden and Trientje Janssen Saathoff.
