Description	:	UNION -- James W. "Jimmy" Hodge, 76, of 124 Ellis St., died March 13, 1998, in Ellen Sagar Nursing Home after an ex-tended illness. A native of Pacolet, he was son of the late Roy and Tilda Lovings Hodge. He was a member of Mon-Aetna Baptist Church, where he was a former deacon and served as chairman of the Tally Committee for 35 years. He also served on the Building Committee of the new church. "Jimmy" Hodge, 76, of 124 Ellis St., died March 13, 1998, in Ellen Sagar Nursing Home after an ex-tended illness. A native of Pacolet, he was son of the late Roy and Tilda Lovings Hodge. He was a member of Mon-Aetna Baptist Church, where he was a former deacon and served as chairman of the Tally Committee for 35 years. He also served on the Building Committee of the new church. He was a member of Masonic Lodge No. 75, Hejaz Shrine Temple, American Legion Post 22 and helped organize the Monarch Fire Department, where he was a member of the board and served as secretary. He served on the Union County school board for 22 years. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He also served in the Naval Reserves for 32 years. He owned and operated Jimmy Hodge Electrical Serviced from 1947 to 1991. Survivors include his wife, Verlie Wade Hodge; one daughter, Janice Hicks of Lexington; four sisters, Bell Smith of Pacolet, Bessie Hobbs of Spartanburg, Betty Stepp of Union and Marigold Holly of Columbia. The family is at the home and will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home. Services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Mon-Aetna Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Benny Green. Burial will be in Union Memorial Gardens. The body will be placed in the church at 2 p.m. Sunday. Memorials may be made to Mon-Aetna Baptist Church, 1431 Lockhart Highway, Union, 29379.
